Sealers can help seal in these cracks and help prevent stains from going deeper into the stone. In fact, granite dealers recommend sealing your counters once or twice a year, depending on how much wear and tear they receive.
Most home improvement stores and granite dealers sell sealers that you can apply yourself. Remember, you should always apply sealer to dry, clean granite. Clean the area, then let it sit for 24 hours. Next, apply sealer, let it dry completely, and then buff it with a terry-cloth towel.
