Good morning, thanks for joining me. Thank you for being here. Tell us about the new collection and the inspiration.
The inspiration came from my being a designer for all these years and having a hard time finding things that I though every room needed. So it seemed to me that I wanted to take some of my favorite things and reproduce them, have them copied and offer them as a collection.
Tell us about some of the favorite pieces. Well, there’s a chair called Charlie’s chair which happens to be a chair that sits in my kitchen that Albert Hadley, who I worked for for years gave me when I first bought my house. And it’s one of my favorite things, it’s called Charlie after my dog who used to sit in the chair a lot. And that’s one piece that means a lot to me.
There’s a sofa that I call John’s sofa which is my Husband John Rosselli and we have it in our apartment. He sits in that and watches the Yankees. It’s very comfortable and a sofa that I think is classic and yet a bit modern, can go in any space. So that’s another one of my favorite pieces.
There’s some great accent pieces also, some tables and other pieces. Well I think that every room, when you sit down in a chair, you need a little table next to you to put your glass of wine or your drink and so I have a lot of little what I call cocktail drinks tables. I have beautiful hurricane lamps that, I love candle light. I think it adds a sense of romance to a room instantly. So we have hurricane lights that we’ve done. We have a great lamp collection, lamps are so hard. Every room needs a number of them. So we have metal lamps and porcelain lamps and the things that really fill out a room.
I also am very interested in different textures. I don’t want every piece of furniture in a room I do to be all the same color of wood. So this collection has some wood pieces, some painted pieces, some metal pieces and I think you have a much more interesting room when you mix up all of the different textures.
